A man was arrested on Monday from a market area in central New Delhi for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in front of his daughter, police said.

The 36-year-old accused was a widower, who lived in the victim's neighbourhood with his two daughters, Scoop Whoop reported.
Police said the man had gone to a park in the locality with one of his daughters where he saw the victim playing. He enticed the little girl by giving her sweets and took her and his daughter to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her in front of his teenage daughter.

He threatened the victim of severe consequences if she informed anyone about the incident. However, the girl narrated the traumatic experience to her mother and the police were informed later. A case was registered and the accused was arrested.
The victim and the teenage daughter of the accused were being counselled, the police shared.
