Health minister orders audit of incoming grants

Minister said indicators should be prepared under which a mechanism of technical and financial audit must be evolved

LAHORE: Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique directed his department to ensure the audit of grants being received by trust hospitals.

He said indicators should be prepared under which a mechanism of technical and financial audit must be evolved so that poor patients can benefit from public money. He stated this while presiding over a meeting of a committee firmed by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to grant Rs100 million to the Ghurki Trust Hospital.

Health minister orders strict dengue surveillance

Professor Faisal said the government should devise a permanent framework for the audit of grants received by trust hospitals. Khawaja Salman confirmed a grant of Rs100 million has been approved by the Chief Minister for Ghurki Hospital. The minister further said that the government provides aid to these hospitals to treat poor patients.
