CDA employee advance: Seniority prioritised in new policy
Employees restricted to avail grant once during career
ISLAMABAD:
In a bid to streamline loans provided for houses and vehicles, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a new policy, prioritising seniority among staffers who have served for at least 10 years with the civic agency.
The policy would govern how employees can avail grants for building houses, motorbikes and cars.
The decision surrounding the policy, which came into force on July 1, was made public on Sunday.
“A new policy has been introduced to ensure transparency and merit in granting these advances to CDA employees.” CDA Member Administration Yasir Pirzada said that in the past, these advances were not being given on seniority basis, affecting deserving employees.
The CDA board, in its meeting held on April 21, had approved the policy for granting house building, car and motorbike advance to CDA employees.
According to the new policy, these advances will be provided on a seniority basis. Any CDA employee wishing to avail the advance should have completed at least 10 years of service.
Moreover, an employee can only avail the grant once in their service.
While both gazetted and non-gazetted employees can avail the advance, around 75 per cent of funds have been reserved for non-gazetted employees whilst 25 per cent of the funds have been reserved for gazetted employees.
The budget for these advances would be allocated twice a year, 50 per cent from July 1 to July 31, while the remaining 50 per cent from December 1 to December 31 of each calendar year.
The car advance will only be granted to officers serving in the basic pay scale-17 and above for gazetted employees having served for at least 10 years. On the other hand, non-gazetted employees in BS-16 and below would be entitled to the motorbike advance.
