Man drowns in Rawal Dam Lake

A young man, who tried to take a bath in the Rawal Dam Lake, drowned on Sunday.
Officials at the Secretariat police said that on Sunday evening, 25-year-old Faraz, a resident of Chatta Bakhtawar, was enjoying an afternoon by the lakeside.
Owing to the heat, he waded into shallow water to take a bath. However, he slipped and lost his footing and started drowning in deeper water.

He tried to stay above water, but because he did not know how to swim, he kept drowning. He started thrashing in the water and shouting for help. Locals nearby who heard his shouts called the police and alerted the lake administration.
Police officials, though, stated that they did not have a swimmer amongst them.
