Encounter: Two robbers injured, one flees

Two robbers injured in an encounter with the police in Kamonke.

GUJRANWALA:
Two robbers were injured in an encounter with the police on Wednesday in Kamonke.

They were shifted to a nearby hospital. Their third accomplice fled from the scene.

Saddar police officials said that while patrolling they were informed about a motorcycle snatching incident. They said a police car was chasing the robbers – Dilawar, Yasin and Irfan – when they opened fire.


They said the police fired back and two robbers, later identified as Dilawar and Yasin, were hit with bullets in their legs. They said they told the police that they were residents of Jhang and had been involved in several other motorcycle and car snatching incidents.
