24 cases against medical store referred to drug court

DC warns that no store should run without drug sale licence

FAISALABAD: District Quality Control Board referred 24 cases against the owner of medical stores to the Drug Court for their alleged involvement in selling unregistered medicines without licenses.

The decision was taken by the board in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani on Saturday.

The board cancelled drug licenses of two medical stores involved in the sale of medicines without keeping a record and violating the drug rules while warned the owners of two medical stores besides adjourning the cases of four medical stores for further inquiry.

The deputy commissioner, while reviewing the inspections reports of the drug inspectors, directed them to campaign vigorously against the sale and manufacture of spurious drugs.

He warned that no medical store in the district should run without drug sale license and the owners of the stores were bound to follow the drug rules and regulations. He said that the medical stores found in sale of expired and fake medicines would be sealed immediately. He asked the drug inspectors to improve the departmental performance and to eliminate the menace of spurious drugs from the district.

The deputy commissioner stressed to accelerate the operation against quacks and ordered to take strict action against these people as they play with human life.
