Dr Nasim was a tenured professor in the Department of Theriogenology and a director at the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). He did his PhD in Reproductive Physiology from West Virginia University, USA. With a wide academic and administrative work experience, he served as the dean of the faculty of Life Sciences Business Management and dean of the faculty of Veterinary Science and director of Research and External Linkages.
Call for setting up more veterinary schools in remote areas
Dr Nasim has been the recipient of various awards including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, the Higher Education Commission’s Best University Teacher, PARC Scientist of the Year Award and Research Productivity Award. The latter was awarded to the professor on three occasions.
He earlier served as an honorary secretary for the Society for Prevention of Cruelty against Animals in Punjab. He introduced the use of ultrasonography in animal reproduction research, training and extension in Pakistan.

Dr Nasim authored at least 80 research publications with 75 impact factors and 1,200 citations. He was a regular reviewer for Theriogenology and Animal Reproduction Science and supervised/co-supervised 56 masters and two doctoral students.
His model of developing and implementing internship for veterinary students had a great impact in bringing the industry and academia closer.
