Govt allocates hefty sum for Bahawalpur’s uplift

396 schemes have been completed while work on the remaining is underway

BAHAWALPUR: The government has allocated Rs3876.827 million for 2,455 development projects that have been initiated in Bahawalpur Division. Of the said projects, 396 schemes have been completed while work on the remaining was underway.

These views were expressed during a meeting which was held under the supervision of Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Saqib Zafar. Development Director Imrana Ajmal, Information Department Director Rana Ejaz Mehmood, officials of building department attended the meeting.

On the occasion, the commissioner said, “All development schemes should be completed on time in accordance with high standards. Negligence will not be tolerated at any cost while round-the-clock monitoring of projects must be ensured.”



While giving briefing to the commissioner, the officials said five schemes of Sui Gas department worth Rs64.931 million, 1,380 power projects with an estimated cost of Rs1153.948 and 25 projects of building department worth Rs44.208 million were underway.

They revealed 91 different development schemes of highways at an estimated cost of around Rs556.23 million were also being carried out. Similarly, 396 schemes of Public Health Engineering worth Rs746.542 million were also underway.
