Dubai launches pink ambulance service for women
These ambulances will cater to health complains by women
A pink ambulance service has been launched in Dubai to provide emergency relief to women and children.
Pink responders are the latest addition to specialised services initiated by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services [DCAS], its executive director, Khalifa Al Drai, revealed. The cooperation currently offers 24 other services.
Dubai to have tower dangling in the air from space?
The new fleet of ambulances will be positioned at Al Tawar Municipality Centre, covering the entire area of Deira for an uninterrupted 12 hours from 11:00am to 11:00pm. After the initial period of two months, the DCAS will re-evaluate the stations while another woman responder will be launched to cover the suburbs of Bur Dubai.
These ambulances will cater to health complains by women, Al Drai said. Apart from providing emergency treatment to pregnant women, new born children to those aged 12 years will also receive medical help.
Passenger drones to buzz across Dubai skies starting July
Al Drai ensured the paramedics were highly trained and the drivers had vast experiences to be able to deal with the reported cases effectively and provide proper care to patients. He added the responders had "undergone special training courses at high level, either theoretically or practically, in coordination with the Latifa Hospital."
