Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbours, PM tells Tajik president
PM Nawaz Sharif is in Tajikistan on a two-day official visit
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Tajikistan in a bid to boost bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The premier was received by the Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzada along with the cabinet ministers at the Dushanbe international airport.
A high-level delegation, including federal ministers and officials, is also accompanying the PM.

In a one-on-one meeting with the Tajik president, PM said Pakistan desired to maintain good relations with all its neighbours, and wanted to resolve the Kashmir conflict with India. Elaborating on the subject, he highlighted the escalated tension on the Line of Control (LoC) due to continuous violations of ceasefire agreement by Indian forces.
A joint declaration entitled, ‘Road towards strategic partnership for regional solidarity’ will also be signed during the visit. A meeting of ‘Joint Business Council’ is also scheduled to enhance bilateral trade and commercial ties.
According to a statement, leaders of Pakistan and Tajikistan are expected to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The two sides will sign MOUs and agreements on different fields during the visit.
Tajikistan to join Pakistan road link bypassing Afghanistan
Tajikistan is also hosting a Quadrilateral Summit of CASA-1000 member states that include Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Tajikistan. The CASA-1000 project aims at developing energy corridor and land connectivity between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
A trilateral summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan is also scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the prime minister's visit to Tajikistan.
