A Chinese vlogger accidentally poisoned herself during livestream after consuming a plant she thought was Aloe Vera, Shangaiist reported.
Zhgang, 26, was live on social media for a tutorial on the benefits of the leafy plant when she realised that the plant she took bites out of was not the one she had intended to use.
In the video, that has since gone viral, the vlogger exclaims "this is great" after her first bite but senses after second bite that something is amiss. "Oh, that tastes bitter," she says to the camera. "Really bitter."

According to Shanghaiist, Zhang said her mouth went numb and her throat felt like it was on fire just after the first bite. She had to end the live stream abruptly to rush to the hospital where the doctors found her to have developed rashes and blisters.
Zhang was reported in a stable condition after doctors pumped her stomach to get rid of the poisonous wax from Agave plant.

The similar-looking plant Zhang consumed was Agave Americana [American aloe] which, according to a Cornell University database, has several toxic compounds, not all of which have been positively identified. It contains the incrediby irritating calcium oxylate raphides," in simpler words: it can be toxic.
