ISLAMABAD:
People started dragging themselves back to work after Eid holidays in the government and private sector offices.
Thin attendance was observed in offices on Thursday, the first working day after Eidul Fitr.
The government had announced Eid holidays for its employees from Monday, June 26, to Wednesday, June 28. However, the government and private offices, especially those at Blue Area, wore a deserted look as most of the people did not turn up for their duties, officials said. According to officials, even those who were in attendance left early saying they’ve to get ready for dinner at their relatives home.
Eid Holidays : No casualty in one-wheeling incidents
Most public sector employees were expected to start work from Monday, they said. An office worker, Salman Ahmed, said employees had taken additional holiday for Thursday and Friday to make the most of Eid.
Another public sector employee Faraz Sheikh said that normalcy was likely to return to government offices on July 3, the first Monday after Eid holidays, when people return from hometowns.
