Hitting the town: Markets abuzz with shoppers ahead of Eid
Tailoring shops in twin cities appeared to have taken more orders than they can possibly cope with, leaving customers scrambling to pick up their clothes. Irfan Ahmed, a tailor at Sector G-9 markaz said, “I used to close orders in the second Ashra of Ramazan, but this time I took orders till the last day on double charges of Rs1,000 per suit.”
Tailor Aslam Shah in the Commercial Market said, “Business is always good around Eid. In fact, this is the only time we make some profit when compared to other months.”
Eid shopping gains momentum in Faisalabad
He said that charges for stitching have increased because of Eid since they have to put in extra an effort. “I prefer getting my clothes stitched from tailors instead of buying readymade,” said Salman.
