KARACHI:
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that Sindh expected to receive Rs110 billion from the federal government in the last month of the 2016-17 fiscal year but only Rs22 billion has been given so far.

“According to the revised statement given by the Centre to Sindh, we were to receive Rs110 billion in the last month,” Shah said while talking to the media on Saturday in the rural town of Bubak in Jamshoro. According to him, the federal government has yet to provide more than Rs85 billion.

“The Centre doesn’t release funds from our share on time, due to which many development projects in Sindh are being affected,” he maintained.

He condemned the terrorist attacks across Pakistan, including the one that took place in Karachi where four policemen were gunned down on Friday, on the eve of Ramazan 27. The CM gave assurances about his government's readiness to provide security during Eid celebrations in the province.

Commenting on politics, Shah downplayed the rise of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Sindh.  “The PTI doesn’t seem to have a future in Sindh.”

‘They stole our father from us’

Shah ruled out forming an electoral alliance with the PTI in 2018, saying that the party is unlikely to win the majority support of the people.

He expressed hope that the Pakistan Peoples Party would not only form a government again in Sindh but also in the Centre after the 2018 general elections.
