Gang of dacoits busted by Islamabad Police
The arrested dacoits have been identified as Qasim, Azhar, Sher, Gul and Kher Khan
ISLAMABAD:
A gang of dacoits, who were involved in around 20 dacoities across the twin cities, were apprehended by the Islamabad Police, a police spokesperson said on Friday.
The official said that after Islamabad SSP Sajid Kiani took notice of rising incidents of dacoity in the city, a seven-member team was formed, headed by Industrial Area SP Liaquat Hyat Niazi and including Sabzi Mandi police station SHO Rukhhsar Mehdi.
The team managed to arrest the five dacoits identified as Qasim, Azhar, Sher, Gul and Kher Khan. The police also recovered gold ornaments, Rs200,000 in cash, Chinese Currency and eight pistols along with ammunition from the possession of the dacoits.
Moreover, during preliminary investigations, the dacoits allegedly confessed that they had been involved in 20 dacoities across the two cities.
