Senator Rubio, who met Ivanka at the Capitol to discuss tax reform and parental leave, gave a hilarious twist to the controversy by launching a Twitter investigation.
"Just left Intel comm and informed meeting today with Ivanka Trump blowing up Twitter over alleged failed hug! Investigating. Will respond soon."
Picture of Pope Francis with Trump family is making the internet go wild

Two minutes later, he found proof: an unclassified "photographic evidence".
We believe we have our own unclassified photographic evidence that will shed greater details on this incident.
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 20, 2017
He added that he and his team were trying to obtain footage of the meeting to further elaborate on the issue.
We are also attempting to acquire multi-angle video which we believe will provide greater insight into this important matter.

Then came an appeal by the Republican senator to people who were happened to be around the Senate carriage entrance at the time of the encounter in question.
If you were filming at the Senate carriage entrance today between 11:20-11:25 am we are seeking your assistance with an active investigation

Half an hour later, the senator tweeted another image shedding light on the incident of the "alleged failed hug".

Another few minutes went by before he posted another pictorial evidence captioned as "BREAKING NEWS".

Having proved his point, Rubio closed the case with one final tweet concluding that the "press covfefe" of the alleged failed hug was "false" — referencing US President Donald Trump's infamous "covfefe" tweet that has yet to be deciphered.
Based on review of evidence & my own recollection, have concluded no hug was even attempted & press covfefe of alleged failed hug is false
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 20, 2017
While Rubio had put the matter to rest, Ivanka addressed "anonymous sources", refusing to comment.
Anonymous sources say @marcorubio planned the alleged failed hug. I have no comment (but I would have hugged him anyway! 🤗) https://t.co/TChrqWsL4D

Terming it as "fake news", the White House adviser quote tweeted a blurred picture of her and the senator, insisting that he was a good hugger.
Fake news! Marco is an excellent hugger... https://t.co/Dk7XXRQlX8

It is pertinent to note, however, that the two suspects in the Twitter investigation gave contradicting accounts of the incident. But one thing is for certain, Rubio may have found an alternate profession: Investigative journalism!
