Extortionist mafia: MQM gives govt two-day deadline
MQM says it will unveil its new strategy if action is not taken against the culprits within two days.
ISLAMABAD:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has issued another deadline to the government, this time on the issue of Karachi’s extortionists saying that the party will unveil its new strategy if action is not taken against the culprits within two days.
Babar Ghauri and other senators belonging to MQM told reporters outside the Parliament House that the government should take action against the extortionist mafia, irrespective of any political affiliation. “Rehman Malik has assured us that action will be taken against this mafia.
Otherwise we will announce our strategy after two days,” Ghuari said. The MQM backed the traders’ strike in Karachi over the burgeoning trend of gangsters and took up the issue during the proceedings of the Senate. They led a walkout that was supported by some other parties in the upper house.
