‘Visible improvement in healthcare budget’
Last year non-salary budget of the hospitals was Rs6 billion which has been enhanced up to Rs12 billion.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan said the budget for healthcare has been doubled and visible improvement has been made in the working of hospitals, however, still there a lot to be done.
He said this while addressing a conference of medical superintendents of all the district and tehsil headquarters hospitals at a local hotel, on Sunday.
He said last year non-salary budget of the hospitals was Rs6 billion which has been enhanced up to Rs12 billion. “Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is providing funds for health sector development open heartedly,” he added.
Govt focusing on improving health, education sectors in FATA
The meeting also reviewed the progress on the implementation on revamping plan of 40 hospitals.
It was decided that more incentives to be given to the anesthetists to overcome the shortage of anesthesia doctors in DHQ/THQ hospitals.
The meeting also reviewed the progress on upgrading the emergency departments of hospitals, hepatitis filter clinics and capacity building and training of human resource.
