ISLAMABAD:

Licence registration of around 200 products has been pending for the last 15 months, casting negative impact on the overall performance of the pharmaceutical industry, according to Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Chairman Haroon Qasim.

Qasim said that the industry had come to a standstill because of pending new manufacturing licences, adding that renewals of manufacturing licences and approvals of new sections had also been pending for months.

Additionally, new drug registrations are not being granted to companies whose manufacturing licences and new sections have already been approved, leading to losses and job cuts.
