A day after unprovoked firing by Indian forces from across the Line of Control (LoC) left two people dead, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has vehemently condemned the cross-border aggression.

“Indian shelling targeting civilian population on the LoC was a flagrant violation of international law,” he said while paying tribute to Asad Ali and Waqar Ahmed who were killed in Tatta Pani and Mandhol sector.

Terming Indian aggression in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as an attack on humanity, he expressed his sorrow and dismay over the silence of the international community over the unabated carnage being perpetrated by Indian forces.

He lamented how the violence and barbarism had continued in IOK during the holy month of Ramazan.

“Kashmiris are being targeted by state terrorism for seeking their inalienable right to self-determination,” he stated.

Khan stressed that the people of IOK should not consider themselves as helpless or isolated, adding that Indian forces were targeting and killing the youth mercilessly.

He went on to say that Indian forces were inciting the youth to pick up arms by threatening them with punitive military measures.

“The movement of the people of Kashmir is indigenous and peaceful. India is denying Kashmiri youth and Kashmiri freedom leaders the political space they need by choking off all channels of communication”, he said

Noting that India had launched a two-pronged attack. By killing Kashmiris with impunity while simultaneously mounting a fourth generation war against Pakistan.

“This twin warfare must end if we want to see peace and stability in region”, he said.
