The right man: Sanaullah says JIT should interrogate Shehbaz
Panama case was not only a conspiracy against the Sharifs, but a conspiracy against progress in Pakistan
LAHORE:
Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah advised the Joint Investigation Team to call Shehbaz Sharif for interrogation instead of any other members of the Sharif family. He said the Punjab chief minister was in the best position to answer any questions.
He said Shehbaz would not even complain about the long hours of interrogation and instead wear down the JIT members. Speaking to the media, he said the JIT was seemingly trying to do a PhD thesis on the Sharif family. The law minister said the methods and long hours spent by the JIT casted doubts over the investigation.
He said the allegations of record tampering and noncooperation were completely false, while the JIT did not even disclose the name of the officer involved in the picture-leaking scandal. He said this was unfair conduct on the part of the JIT and the SC should take note of the matter. He said the Panama case was not only a conspiracy against the Sharifs, but a conspiracy against progress in Pakistan.
