The JIT investigating the case has summoned the PM to record his statement on Thursday, June 15. He has been asked to appear before the investigation panel with all documents relevant to the case.
The banners emerged in the red-zone area of the federal capital, especially in the area surrounding the academy, according to Express News.
The slogans inscribed messages in support of the premier, his daughter Maryam Nawaz as well as Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Some read "move forward Nawaz Sharif, we (the masses) are with you."
Panamagate: Imran asks Nawaz to step down
The premier's elder son Hussain Nawaz has already appeared five times before the JIT while younger Hassan Nawaz has appeared twice.
On Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan called upon the PM to resign ahead of his appearance before the probing team.
The demand came against the backdrop of recent complaints made by the JIT that certain state institutions were tempering with the record related to the probe in a bid to protect the Sharif family.
