Vision 2025: Govt plans 150 community colleges
Around 15 new research universities will also be established

The government plans to increase the higher educational institutions in the country under the aegis of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Vision 2025 programme. According to an official of the HEC, the government has allocated more than Rs35 billion in the next budget under which as many as 150 community colleges would be established at all districts across the country to produce skilled work force. Around 15 new research universities would also be established in which the programmes relating technologies, medicines, agriculture, communication and health would be studied. The establishment of more than 100 smart campuses of different government universities in the far flung areas of the country was also included in the project. The sub-campuses of the Fata university in all agencies was also part of the project, officials added.
