Grenade attack at DSP Swabi's residence, no casualties reported

Unidentified men hurled grenades at the house of DSP Swabi Izhar Shah in the wee hours of Monday. However, no casualties were reported, police said.
A senior police officer told The Express Tribune that the miscreants went behind the house and tossed two grenades. The grenades exploded inside the house but no one was hurt. However, the house of was partially damaged because of the twin blasts.
Assailants hurl grenade at imambargah
DSP Izhar Shah, known for his anti-terrorism operations in Malikabad, was relocated to a safe place in the district some years ago after receiving death threats on the phone.
The police cordoned off the house and started a search operation in the area to find the attackers. All roads leading to the district office have also been closed for traffic. A few years ago, DSP Izhar Shah had also survived a suicide attack in the police lines area of Shah Mansoor.
Five Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were injured in 2016 when unidentified armed men had lobbed grenades at their convoy in Swabi.
