MULTAN: A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband late Monday night in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Falak Sher, a 40-year-old resident of Basti Shaikhan, came home and attacked his sleeping wife, Khurseedan Bibi, 30, with a sharp knife, causing fatal injuries.

The police were notified of the murder in the morning by area residents.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, authorities said the body had been returned to the family after post-mortem.

Police said a case has been filed in the City police station and a team was dispatched in search of the suspect.

While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, neighbours told The Express Tribune of differences between them on the issue of the suspect's second marriage.
