Police have informed the court that a petition seeking registration of an FIR against Asif Ali Zaradri for the former president’s alleged anti-army remarks had ulterior motives behind it and have requested the court to dismiss it.

Muhammad Fasihullah Khan, a DHA Islamabad resident, had approached the police and later the sessions court seeking registration of FIR against Zardari saying the former president made a provocative speech against ex-COAS retired General Raheel Sharif and other army officers two years ago.

However, the Secretariat police in their reply have requested the court to dismiss the petition saying the petitioner had ulterior motives to achieve.
