CM lauds government savings
Shehbaz said provincial budget 2017-18 was people-friendly and the largest development allocation presented in history

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said the provincial government has saved resources worth Rs.220 billion in different development projects.
He issued this statement while talking to MPAs from different districts in his Punjab Assembly chambers on Friday. The CM vowed that the government would fulfill the promises it had made to the people.
Shehbaz said the provincial budget 2017-18 was indeed people-friendly and the largest development allocation presented in the history.
Budget 2017-18: CCB proposes Rs1.3b balanced budget
He assured this would help improve the quality of life of people, besides ensuring composite development and strengthening of the economy. He asked public representatives to work with dedication to better serve the people and monitor public welfare projects. He concluded there was an urgent need for timely completion.
According to official data available with The Express Tribune, in the development budget for upcoming fiscal year, Rs452 billion have been allocated for Annual Development Programme (ADP), Rs93 billion for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train, and Rs90 billion and other development schemes that will likely to be announced close to general elections next year.
