NAB hands over Rs5m cheques to BoP

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem handed over Rs5 million cheques to officials from Bank of Punjab (BoP) and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) in his office on Thursday.

The BoP contacted NAB Lahore alleging that Subha Sadiq, a defaulter from Sharqpur, obtained loan facility worth Rs6.130 million against security of 206 Kanal land.

However, he defaulted and failed to pay the loan amount.  During the course of inquiry conducted by NAB Lahore, the accused requested to return the bank loan voluntarily in September 2016.

Following which the accused submitted first installment of Rs2.043 million in March 2017, whereas, the accused was bound to submit remaining loan amount in two installments.
