A police official said labourer Niaz Ahmed had three young daughters Humaira, Naureen and Mehr-un-Nisa and son Riaz. He added, “Niaz and his children were living a poverty-ridden life due to financial constraints.” He pointed out, “His daughters were unmarried while his son was jobless.”
He said Niaz used to quarrel with his children over routine matters and exchanged hot words with them.
The official maintained, “On the day of the incident, Niaz had an argument with his children over a matter. However, when the arguments escalated, he pulled out a knife and stabbed his three daughters.”
“When his son Riaz intervened to save his sisters, the accused also stabbed him with the knife,” he said.
As a result, all four suffered injuries and were rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police said the accused had been arrested while a case was registered against him at the police station. Further investigation was underway.
A few days ago, a man strangled his three daughters to death and injured his wife over financial constraints in Arifwala.
Ahmed Yar, 39, married Shakeela and the couple had six children. Ahmed had been jobless for quite some time and had frequent quarrels with his wife who finally went to her parents’ house. Ahmed, however, brought Shakeela back and the couple again quarrelled following which the man strangled his daughters 11-year-old Zainab Bibi, Zunera, 6, and Mariam, 2, when they were sleeping.
