Remembering Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

They need to ask themselves whether this is something that Mr Bhutto himself would have wanted.

LONDON:
This is with reference to Farahnaz Ispahani’s article of April 4 titled “Remembering Shaheed Bhutto”. Yes, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto may have been a great leader but the fact remains that the stench of various dictatorial amendments from the Zia era continues to contaminate the 1973 Constitution. Also, the PPP now is failing his memory since it chooses to do nothing and is unable to even condemn and take to task those who assassinated Benazir Bhutto, Salmaan Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti.

Every year, writers from the PPP try and remind us yet again of the achievements of the past. They need to ask themselves whether this is something that Mr Bhutto himself would have wanted.
