In a statement, AFPPA General Secretary Abdul Latif Afridi demanded a complete merger of the tribal areas with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He said everything about the planned reforms should be made clear.
He said there should be no contradiction between Article 247 of the Constitution and Rewaj Act, as the former still has the provision of Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) while the latter extends the jurisdiction of Supreme Court and high court to Fata.

He called for renaming the province as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Fata through a constitutional amendment. The seats for Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunhwa assembly should be clearly explained, he added.
According to Afridi, the tensions with Afghanistan, Iran and India leading to crises on the three borders of the province have caused delay in the implementation of the reforms.
He said that a campaign had been started throughout the tribal areas from Monday onwards featuring jirga, awareness conferences and other activities.
