LAHORE:
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said if Indian Prime Minister Modi tried to escalate tension at the border to rescue his ‘old friends’, he would get a befitting response by the Pakistani nation.

Siraj expressed these views while talking to the residents of Mansoora at an Iftar dinner on Saturday. He said India does not like to see a government in Islamabad which has a soft corner for the cause of Kashmir’s freedom movement. He said there was constant tension on the Pakistan-India border and the LoC due to Indian shelling in which citizens were being killed every day.

“New Delhi is trying to divert the attention of Pakistani nation from the corruption cases going on against the Pakistani rulers as Modi could go to any extent to rescue his friends,” he said while referring to friendship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Modi.

“However,” he said, “if the world community does not pay attention to the Kashmir situation, the clouds of war will continue to hover over the region.”

The JI chief, however, said the JI movement against corruption was nearing success and the day was not far when the plunderers of the national exchequer would have to account for every penny they had looted and would be seen behind the bars.

Sirajul Haq said Indian occupation forces were continuing brutalities in Held Kashmir but the rulers in Islamabad were silent spectators.
