LAHORE:
Astonishingly, the Punjab government has proposed an allocation of just Rs50 (sic) for strengthening of satellite station of Punjab Forensic Science Agency in its budget for fiscal year 2017-18. That is if budget documents are to be believed.

Not only this, the government has also proposed Rs252 (sic) for procurement of laboratory equipment for establishment of training lab at Punjab Forensic Science Agency. Moreover, only Rs130 (sic) have been allocated for construction of Public Prosecution Offices in various districts and Rs238.813 (sic) has been set aside for the construction of six tehsil complexes.

These above mentioned allocations are mentioned under heading of “New Initiatives” of Volume 1 of the Development Programme, which seems to have been written erroneously. However, in details of these the initiatives, the exact amounts are mentioned. An allocation of Rs252 million is actually proposed for the procurement of laboratory equipment for establishment of training lab at PFSA Lahore and Rs527 million is the amount for construction of a training lab at PFSA.
