Pilgrims from India are scheduled to arrive at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassanabdal on June 8, to commemorate the 411th death anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth of the 11 Sikh gurus.

Speaking to the media, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Deputy Secretary Shrines Imran Gondal said around 3,000 Indian pilgrims would arrive on June 8 on a ten-day pilgrimage through Wagah Border and reach Hassanabdal the same day by a special train.

Gondal said the pilgrims would also visit Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, where the main event of the anniversary will be held, besides paying homage at other religious places.


He said after performing rituals, they would proceed to Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib on June 11 and go on to Gurdwara Sacha Soda Farooqabad on June 13.

The main ceremony of Bhog and observance of martyrdom day would be observed in Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on June 16 while the pilgrims will return on June 17, he added.

He said foolproof security arrangements will be made in collaboration with the district administration and law enforcement agencies.
