Budget 2017-18: CCB proposes Rs1.3b balanced budget

RAWALPINDI: Like the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board a couple of days ago, the Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) have prepared a Rs1.319 billion balanced budget for 2017-2018.

While the board’s members could not meet on Thursday owing to the absence of station commander and the board’s president Brigadier Syed Hassan Raza, the 25-member-board is expected to meet over the next few days to review and approve the budget.

According to budgetary estimates, the CCB aims to generate Rs955.325 million through its own resources. Of this, the board is estimated to earn Rs601 million through taxes and other fees imposed within its jurisdiction.

Further, the authorities are expected to collect Rs300.825 million from its different properties apart from taxes. The board is expected to raise Rs52 million through miscellaneous resources.

Apart from its own sources, the CCB hopes to get around Rs11 million from different grants, contributions, and security deposits.

The board will also get Rs3 million from different debts. With an opening balance of Rs350 million, the board is expected to have a total income of Rs1.319 billion during the upcoming fiscal year 2017-18.

As far as the expenditure of the board is concerned, it aims to spend Rs479 million on paying the salaries and allowances of its employees. The board has further set aside Rs411 million for contingencies.
