The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit were recently given a particularly challenging job, as a young male kangaroo fell into a canal with no escape in sight, as seen in a video posted to the Facebook page of Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors.
The unit knew they needed to be on to their toes for this rescue mission. The rising water levels with the increasing tide came in and it was only a matter of time before the barnacles on the rocks would cause serious injury to the kangaroo’s feet.

The team followed the kangaroo down the canal until the exhausted animal could not go any further and decided to rest his weary paws on the kayak.
They then sedated the kangaroo and carried him to dry land, where they washed his feet with disinfectant and waited for him to wake up.
It was not long before he found his feet and bounded into the nearby trees.
