Arrest: Man held for ‘freewill marriage’
Police detained a man for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl.
KARACHI:
The police have detained a young man, Azizur Rehman, for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl on Sunday.
They recovered the girl and sent her to jail. The case was filed by the girl’s mother, Nighat, against Rehman who claimed he had kidnapped her 16-year-old daughter, Y.
The Frere investigation police found the pair in a house in Jamshed Quarters during a raid. Rehman claims that he and Y were married. Investigation Officer Mohammad Atiq said Rehman and Y would appear before a court on Tuesday and the police were waiting on court orders.
