SUKKUR:
Dozens of journalists organised a demonstration outside the Thull Press Club on Sunday, demanding the arrest of the men who robbed journalist Taufeeq Ahmed Noonari’s house.
The robbery took place in Moosa Allah Abad Colony on Saturday. Led by Thull Press Club President Khawand Bux Bhatti, the protesters shouted slogans against the police for failing to provide security to residents.
They said that armed robbers broke into Noonari’s house in broad daylight, looting gold jewellery, mobile phones and a cash amount of Rs65,000 and injuring family members.
“The law and order situation in Jacobabad district continues to worsen and the police have no role to play,” complained a protester. They demanded that the police arrest the culprits and recover the looted goods.
