Don't give Zakat and Fitra to banned outfits, Rangers request Karachiites
Citizens urged to ensure they don't give money to political parties' militant wings or militant and sectarian outfits
KARACHI:
The Sindh Rangers asked the citizens of Karachi on Tuesday to not give zakat and fitra to banned militant and sectarian outfits or militant wings of political parties.
A Rangers spokesperson advised citizens to immediately contact the paramilitary force if they are coerced into paying zakat and fitra during the holy month of Ramazan.
"Before giving zakat and fitra, make sure that your money is not being used by militant wings of political parties or banned militant and sectarian outfits," he said in a statement.

The spokesperson asked citizens to contact the paramilitary force on its helpline 1101, WhatsApp number 03162369996 or email rangers.madadgar@gmail.com to register their complaints if somebody forcibly collects zakat and fitra. He appealed to citizens to help Rangers deal with such incidents.
Although a crackdown on terrorists and other criminals is under way in Karachi for over three and a half years, banned outfits and other criminals are still extorting money from citizens.
Last Ramazan, Rangers had found several zakat and fitra slips sent to citizens by militant outfits.
