A massive power outage hit a large swathe of Karachi for the second time in less than two day when a high tension wire at the Bin Qasim power station encountered a technical fault.
According to reports, more than 15 K-Electric grid stations tripped due to the fault which developed late Monday night. The major areas of Karachi which face a power blackout include Defence, Defence View, Mehmoodabad, Korangi, Landhi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Liaquatabad , F B Area, North Karachi, New Karachi, Buffer zone, Gul Bahar, Shadman Town, Aisha Manzil, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir, Khokarapar, Mubina Town, Gadap City, Surjani Town and many parts of the old city.
Power outages during first sehri foretell a difficult Ramazan
Many Karachi residents also took to the streets to protest against K-Electric. The power company, when contacted, was not available for comments.
