MARDAN: Renowned lawyer and leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Alamzeb Khan was shot dead by unidentified gunmen who ambushed him in the jurisdiction of Turo police station on Monday morning.

When attacked, Khan was on his way to the Mardan sessions court, said the police. He was rushed to the Mardan Medical Complex where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A case has been registered against unidentified gunmen.

Incidents of targeted killings are on rise in the settled areas of the district.
