LAHORE:
Ramazan is a month of self-reflection. It is also the time of year when physical training and healthy eating are most likely to suffer, courtesy the scrumptious pakoras and samosas we can’t help but get our hands on! However, Imran Khan, possibly one of the the fittest persons in Pakistan, has his own way of regulating diet and workout routine during the holy month.
Ramazan for non-Muslims: An etiquette guide
“Ramazan is the best time to detox and strengthen the body’s endurance,” Khan tells the Express Tribune. According to the cricketer-turned-politician, it is extremely essential to workout in order to reap full benefits of fasting. “For young people, a fit and healthy body shows that they are disciplined and in control of themselves,” adds Khan, who exercises even more than usual in Ramazan.
He hits the gym an hour before iftar and usually walks at least two miles before sehri. For sehri, he eats plenty of yoghurt, fruits and eggs while he opens his fast with a normal dinner meal.
