“Ramazan is the best time to detox and strengthen the body’s endurance,” Khan tells the Express Tribune. According to the cricketer-turned-politician, it is extremely essential to workout in order to reap full benefits of fasting. “For young people, a fit and healthy body shows that they are disciplined and in control of themselves,” adds Khan, who exercises even more than usual in Ramazan.
He hits the gym an hour before iftar and usually walks at least two miles before sehri. For sehri, he eats plenty of yoghurt, fruits and eggs while he opens his fast with a normal dinner meal.
