SSGC’s Aftab fails dope test
Cyclist loses third place in Tour de Pakistan, faces ban.
LAHORE:
Sui Southern Gas Corporation’s cyclist Sultan Aftab has tested positive for a banned substance after a dope test was conducted during the Tour de Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cycling Federation conducted dope tests of the top 10 cyclists during the Tour in which Aftab finished third. He has had the prize-money confiscated and faces a two-year ban.
Earlier, Zahid Gulfam, Noor Alam and Dilshed Ali were banned for two years after testing positive during the National Cycling Championship.
