The Fringe



Synonymously known as bangs, it is a style that never seems to fade out or lose its actuality. Bangs transition to go along with new fads, techniques, cuts, and face shapes. You can style them up or down, colour them in bright hues and create eye-catching angles to highlight your best facial features. Bangs have become thicker and are long enough to be split down the middle. Tip: You might want to wait until you’re back from the holidays to “cut it out”. Trust me, dealing with the heat, and your new bangs and sunscreen and a tan might prove a little challenging.

Waves



S-waves are old-Hollywood-inspired, brushed-out curls (you could also call them retro waves or a vintage set). Veronica Lake was the style’s poster girl in the ‘40s, and then, seven decades later, everyone got on board, from Blake Lively to Beyoncé. Now we perfect them with a flat iron.

Power Hair



Power hair doesn’t need to be ultra-styled. A simple behind-the-ear tuck can scream confidence. Slicked-back and ultra-cool, just add a pair of shades and you’re ready to go.

‘Bronde’ hair



In some lighting it’s blonde, in others it’s golden brown. This transformative hair colour trend is called Ash bronde — and it’s the perfect warm-toned hair colour that can be adjusted to work on all skin tones. So if you’ve never considered going blonde before, maybe this is your year.

Boy cuts



The boy cut hairstyle accentuates the face by bringing attention to the eyes and cheek bones. It’s a cut that’s becoming popular amongst women because of its low maintenance, as it can be quickly styled and done right with a low side parting. A slightly longer front adds just the right amount of femininity to this look. Audrey Hepburn’s enviable crop in Sabrina continues to inspire women everywhere. Even Rihanna and Anne Hathaway have sported this cut.

Tousled  Waves



Tousled waves don’t look the same on everyone because, firstly, we all have different types of hair and secondly, you can experiment with layering and colour. It can be loads of layers, starting on your crown, less layering, closer to the ends or something in between these two options. For instance, you may come up with an elegant feathered finish, extra drama with spiky ends or create a visually effortless effect of an out-of-bed-look.
