Uber driver charged with kidnapping, assault of woman in Canada

An Uber driver was arrested in Toronto on kidnapping and assault charges after an 18-year-old woman told police she escaped his car after he made unwanted advances and then refused to let her out of the vehicle, Canadian authorities said on Tuesday.

Sukhbaj Singh, 24, was arrested on Monday, a day after the woman reported the incident in Toronto. The woman was not identified by authorities.
