Israel PM condemns Manchester attack

This was known as Britain's deadliest terror attack in 12 years

JERUSALEM:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday condemned a bomb attack at a pop concert in the British city of Manchester that killed 22 people.

"The Israeli government strongly condemns the terrible terror attack last night in Manchester," Netanyahu said in a statement.

"I send my condolences to the families of those murdered and wishes of swift recovery to the wounded. Terror is a global threat and the enlightened countries must act together to defeat it in any place."

Police said a man detonated a bomb at the concert on Monday night in the northwestern English city by US pop star Ariana Grande in Britain's deadliest terror attack in 12 years.

Children were among those killed, police have said.

Manchester terror attack: What we know

Netanyahu held talks with visiting US President Donald Trump on Monday.

Trump was meeting Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday and was expected to comment on the attack later.
