The committee members expressed their displeasure over not presenting report about erratic lab test results of National Institute of Health (NIH). The committee in its last meeting had directed the institute to present a complete report after lab tests of Senator Khalida Parveen conducted at NIH and a private lab had different results.

The Executive Director of NIH Dr Mukhtar Ahmad told the members that test results of NIH labs are authentic and among hundreds of tests if one or two show erratic results it can be attributed to human error. Every medical test report is not flawed and there are chances of error in results, he added. Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh questioned if a patient does not have hepatitis C and is diagnosed by the labs hepatitis C positive do you think it’s quite normal and not an issue. Senator Kalsoom Parveen said it can kill a person if he is normal and starts consuming the medicine of hepatitis or any other disease.
