Kayani was chairing the 64th Formation Commanders’ Conference that continued on the second day at General Headquarters on Tuesday.
According to ISPR, the conference was attended by corps commanders, principal staff officers and formation commanders.
The participants were given comprehensive briefings on security environment and operational and training matters. The briefings were followed by an open and purposeful discussion.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff congratulated the formations on successful conclusion of ‘Year of Training’ and series of army exercises ‘Azm-e-Nau’. He lauded the conduct of operations against miscreants in Swat, Malakand and tribal areas, and also highlighted the follow up role of army in the social development of the affected areas.
The COAS reiterated that the army was fully prepared to meet the challenges faced by the country, externally as well as internally.
