Zardari wants APS inquiry report made public
PPP supremo hits out at govt, PTI for failing to deliver in K-P
PESHAWAR:
Asif Ali Zardari launched a broadside at both the provincial and federal governments for failing to deliver in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa, saying that Pakistan Peoples Party will be voted to power in the next general elections.
Addressing a news conference at the residence of party’s provincial president Engineer Humayun Khan, the PPP co-chairman called the government to make public the inquiry report of the Army Public School attack.
Next PM from PPP, predicts Zardari
Taking a jibe at PTI, the former president said that he did not see the ‘New Pakistan’ in the province moreover the old had also been lost despite the sacrifices made by the people of K-P.
“I have met with government employees, daily wagers, lawyers, students and doctors during my stay and no one is happy,” he stated.
Zardari said that Nawaz was only a paper tiger. “It is a beast that preys on the weak and Sharif is eating everything here like a beast.”
Criticising the PTI chief, he said that Imran Khan boasted that his party carved a new Pakistan in the province but in fact their Tsunami had only wrought destruction.
He claimed that working conditions were extremely poor. “PPP had increased the salaries up to 150 per cent during its tenure. We were handed over a country that was short on wheat and sugar but due to PPP policies we can export these commodities today.
“People of K-P have made huge sacrifices for Pakistan in ongoing war on terrorism, which has been imposed on us by some imprudent people and foreign forces,” he said.
Zardari blames Nawaz for Mashal’s murder
Zardari said that his party will always stand with the Pakhtuns in their war against militancy and extremist mindset.
“We carried out the Swat operation and ended it to ensure the peaceful return of all IDPs, but today IDPs of the tribal areas are still living in the camps without any help,” he claimed.
The former president also warned the K-P government against the privatisation of hospitals. He told them it is the property of the people that cannot be sold. “Even if they privatise it, PPP will nationalise it.”
